Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026

1. Introduction

ResumeUp is a straightforward tool for resume formatting and optimization. We believe your professional data belongs to you. This policy outlines how we handle your information.

2. How We Handle Your Resume Text

When you use our AI optimization features, your resume text and any provided job descriptions are sent to third-party AI API providers (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) via standard API calls. This processing is governed by those providers' service terms. We do not sell your resume data to data brokers, recruiters, or marketing agencies.

3. What We Don't Store

We do not maintain permanent server storage for unauthenticated users. Your draft resume data stays locally in your browser's localStorage. It is your responsibility to download your completed resume or save your text externally.

4. Analytics and Cookies

We use standard web analytics to understand how our site is used. This may involve the use of cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings or our cookie banner.

5. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements on our website. Google AdSense uses cookies and device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other websites on the internet. These cookies may be set from domains including google.com, doubleclick.net, googlesyndication.com, or googleadservices.com.

When you visit a page that uses Google AdSense, your browser automatically sends information to Google, including:

  • Your IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Browser type, version, and language
  • Operating system and device type
  • The URL of the page you visited and time of your request
  • Referring website addresses
  • The DoubleClick advertising cookie and ad interaction data (clicks, impressions)

Google may also use this data, combined with information from other sites and apps that use Google services, to infer your interests and personalize the ads you see. For full details, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings or opt out of other third-party advertising vendors at www.aboutads.info/choices/.

Advertisers have no access to the resume data you submit through our tools.

6. Bot Protection and Security

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect this site from spam and abuse. Use of Turnstile is subject to the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date.
